Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan

The Founder of Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, United Arab Emirates. She is the wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

She is also the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Art Host Committee.

Her foundation, which bears the name of Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan, aims to contribute to providing a promising future for all members of Emirati society, and to help them explore their abilities and talents and realize their potential and ambitions. The Foundation adopts and supports strategic initiatives in the fields of arts, culture, heritage, early child development, and health. It also organizes the “Foruma” program. The Foundation works to develop community projects that focus on children, in addition to providing a platform that opens up broad horizons for participation in community service.

She also supports a number of other humanitarian projects through the Red Crescent.

She received the “Most Popular Woman of the Year 2011” award from the “Middle East Excellence Award Institute”, and won the “Sharjah Volunteer Work Award” for the year 2012. She was also ranked by “Canvas” magazine among the top 50 influential and prominent figures in the cultural and artistic fields in the Middle East.

Sheikha Salama is the wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. They have 9 sons and daughters and 14 grandchildren and granddaughters. Among her sons are Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
