ST JOHN’S AMATEUR BOXING CLUB
I would like to welcome you to the club and provide you with some information about our activities. The club provides boxing opportunities for young people between the ages of six upto open age to receive coaching and competition in amateur boxing. All coaching is by qualified England Boxing coaches who are first aid trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.
The club has been awarded Sport England’s Clubmark, which is awarded to clubs by the ABAE when the club is able to demonstrate that it meets the EB club accreditation programme criteria as to boxing programme; child protection; sports equity and ethics and club management. Clubmark is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in the sport.
This club has adopted and abides by the EB Child Protection Policy and the EB Equity Policy. Both documents can be viewed/ downloaded on the EB website at www.abae.org . We welcome parents to all training and competitions and value your support.
We are keen to try and involve parents in the club and you can meet club members and find out more about the club at our shows or presentation evenings. Please see previous page for information about training times and dates, and details regarding travel arrangements, kit and club registration. Training sessions take place at ST JOHN’S CENTRE, CHEQUERS ROAD, CHORLTON. M21 9DX.
Arrangements should be made for children to travel to and from training sessions and matches. We appreciate it if children can arrive promptly and are collected promptly at the end of the session, if they are not making their own way home. If you are going to be late picking your child up, please contact a club official ASAP.
Club training kit consists of shorts, t-shirt and trainers. The cost of each training session is £2.50 junior session / £3.50 senior sessions. The club has a pay as you train policy.
We would be grateful if you could complete a club membership form. For the safety of you and your child it is important that the club is informed of any medical condition or allergies that may be relevant should your child fall ill or be involved in an accident while at the club.
If you would like to talk to someone at the club about this information or your child’s involvement with the club, please contact the Junior Coordinator
DEBBIE REA on 0161-8811469.
We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to meeting you at some point in the future.
Yours sincerely,
