Mahovsky’s Metalife offers Metalife Hard Chrome Plating and Nickel Plating on firearms. There are several types of Nickel Plating available, Electroless Nickel which is a matte finish, Bright Nickel and Nickel Boron. Plating can be done on aluminum frames. Mahovsky’s Metalife also offers custom engraving and gunsmithing. Metalife Hard Chrome Plating looks similar to stainless steel and has a very hard surface that will not chip, crack or peel. Metalife is highly rust resistant and holster wear resistant. Mahovsky’s is the only place to get Metalife plating.
Metalife is an extremely hard electrodeposited chromium that is applied by a rigidly controlled process to produce a superior degree of adherence and uniformity that is not attainable by conventional chromium plating.
Metalife is effective in increasing wear resistance in sliding surface contacts. Metalife provides erosion and corrosion resistance of good to excellent orders. Metalife micro-surface composition aides in lubricant dispersion, enhancing base metals to the degree of reducing or eliminating galling, seizing and high friction over a wide range of installations and environments. This means METALIFE IS A GUN’S BEST FRIEND.
Metalife will reduce the coefficient friction on all base metals and will slick up an action. Metalife has a hardness of 70-72 Rockwell “C” but when applied to metal, it shows an increase of 10-15 points on the Rockwell “C” scale. This WILL add to the life of your gun parts.
Metalife will not chip, flake, crack, peel or separate from the base material under standard bend tests like Nickel will.
