Who are We

The Sarman Group was created in August 2005 with the objective of processing of agricultural produce, agricultural commodities, and plastics packaging. The company process oil seeds into high quality edible oil and its derivatives to meet the expanding needs of the rapidly growing market in Nigeria. The company later expanded into a full-scale agricultural operation with investments in poultry, fisheries, Snail farming, animal husbandry, cultivation of fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, and food production (flour and its derivatives & edible oil). The company have its own fish and chicken hatcheries and full-scale maize and Maize flour mills and animal feed production line for its own consumption and selling of excess to other farmers. Agriculture and its advisory services in Nigeria face many challenges, one of which is to respond meaningfully to farmers’ diverse demands for advice on crop, livestock, fish, processing, business, finance and marketing issues. Having had experience in Agri value chain Sarman registered a multimedia company IKRA MULTIMEDIA LIMITED RC number 1760968 to be a world class media group that would mainly concentrate in agriculture and its advisory services in Nigeria. The company intends to cover its objectives in motion picture, video and television program production, sound recording and music publishing activities that directly and indirectly related to agriculture. With limited resources advisors on agriculture struggle to reach the millions of farmers in Africa.  In Nigeria, research institutes, universities, NGOs, extension services, companies, radio stations and farmer-based organizations are doing considerable efforts to find or develop suitable training for sustainable agriculture for food security and poverty alleviation.   IKRA has established a commercial radio transmission under the Trademark of HIMMA Radio 90.1FM and it intend to start transmission in local languages with programs that are geared towards farmer training. Resource for transmission will be sourced from global community of extension service providers and farmers. This will be in addition to series of face-to-face program in collaboration with relevant government and non-governmental agencies for the promotion of agriculture in Nigeria.
