SPACES, COUNTRIES, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY A COMBINATION OF BEAUTY AND TRADITION, QUALITY AND STYLE. CAPTURED IN ONE PRODUCT. THAT’S WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. THAT’S HATHI.

We love to design and decorate SPACES-be it our immediate surroundings and physical space which can be expressed through clothes, moods, and accessories, or be it the spaces we are living in, like rooms, flats, houses and gardens. Change is a constant, and our shifting spaces reflect our internal and external changes. The production of HATHI is all ‘made in India’ and the head of sales is in Switzerland, creating connections over two COUNTRIES. We are looking for products and methods of production which can express SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, so we began to produce the main parts of the products ourselves. We provide on-the-job training and employment to indigenous people with a strong focus on women’s employment. The incorporation of traditional methods of production and the immense beauty of India creates A COMBINATION OF BEAUTY AND TRADITION. Switzerland is well known for its constant hunt for QUALITY AND a practical approach to STYLE. All this is CAPTURED IN ONE PRODUCT. THAT’S WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. THAT’S HATHI

ESSENTIAL STARTING QUESTION:

Some people have more and some people have less. How can I provide more to the ones who have less? Isa Heini lives in the Kanha National Park in central India- a beautiful life closely connected with nature and the wilderness. Innumerable of birds are singing the whole day long, jackals are visiting every evening, a family of leopards is strolling around the property, a jungle cat is resident on the property and every evening fantastic jungle lore is shared around the camp fire. The indigenous people of this area are part of the Gond and the Baiga tribes. They live a harsh life, with a lot of hard physical labour in the fields and yet they are living way below the poverty line. The women are often forced to do back breaking construction work on the road, while simultaneously taking care of the family, the kids and the household work. Malnutrition is one of the basic problems, followed by anaemia and the constant absence of basic hygiene products like sanitary pads.
