At Hair Crown, we believe in
building confidence and self love in each woman, one hair wig at a time.

Every
year, thousands of women experience devastating amounts of hair loss due to
medical circumstances like chemotherapy, radiation, alopecia, and burns. For those
women who have endured such conditions, going about life might be quite a
harrowing experience.

This is
where we step in, so that no woman feels any less confident in her own skin, by
facilitating hair donation and generating awareness. We help women/ children in
building self confidence and hope by donating hair wigs that we source and
craft. Our team collects the hair donations from volunteers first hand,
segregates and subjects it to processing after which it is handed over to the
manufacturers. The final product, “Ready to use wigs”, are distributed to
cancer patients free of cost.

We’re
passionate about this cause, and we make an impact by organizing awareness
drives and marathons, on causes that are close to our heart.

Apart
from this, we work towards educating the people of rural regions on the topic
of menstrual hygiene and sanitation, which is still a huge taboo in such
places. Official reports state that 23 million girls in India drop out of
school annually, due to lack of awareness on menstruation and lack of sanitary
products. Lack of awareness must not stand between the girl child and her
education, so we work towards closing the awareness gap– by educating these
sects of the society and raising funds to ensure sanitary products reach them.

In the
near future, we intend to focus on the following Action plan:

1.     
Creation of
menstrual hygiene campaigns around Southern parts of Tamil Nadu and
kickstarting healthy conversation, thus paving the way to education for each
girl child.

2.     
Promoting the
usage of sustainable and eco-friendly pads

3.     
Raising funds
to enable the girls and women of rural areas gain access to hygienic sanitary
napkins.

Our
program runs on three wings:

1.     
Hair Donation
drive (where we collect hair from the
donors and provide the wigs free of cost to cancer patients), and by extending
holistic support to cancer patients from anywhere across the globe.

2.     
Menstrual
Hygiene Product campaign (A two prong approach
revolving around both the rural masses and urban women)

–       
Educating the
rural women and men on basic menstrual hygiene practices, and providing
reusable cloth napkins to the women.

–       
Campaigning on
the harmful and toxic effects of commercial pads on our health and on the
planet, and bringing about awareness on more sustainable alternatives like
cloth pads and menstrual cups.

3.     
Organic cosmetics
promotion – A business model that will work
towards fundraising for our initiative, and also generates employment
opportunities for rural women.
